Summer Trip - Kelowna 2012

We took a week and borrowed my parents convertable to head west - 7 hour drive to Kelowna, BC. A friend lent us her apartment and it was quite nice.

Our first night dinner....greek salad, bread with oil and balsamic vinegar with Retzina wine. Yum!

My henna tatoo - a cute little elephant!

A new favourite!

My favourite winery in BC....all fruit wines, no grapes!

Lavender....mmmm

Cheers!

A cool water toy - water jet that boosts him out of the water!

Happy birthday to me!

It happened! It didn't really sneak up, I felt it coming. I dreaded it but have since decided to embrace it - my 40th birthday! Why? Because I can! I feel good, still old some days, but feel good. I was invited out for a Saturday night with friends, a backyard drinking night...they surprised me with flowers and a cake. The next day, I was invited out for brunch with my in-laws. Jason was out of town, so I went. They surprised me as well - taking me to a park on this lovely Sunday late morning and found my parents and other family members. I knew then it was a picnic to celebrate my birthday. What I didn't know was that about 40 friends showed up - from all periods and facets of my life. A friend of mine, whom I have been friends with since I was 5, colleagues, friends I haven't seen in years. I was honoured and thrilled!

The day I turned 40 - bad lighting, but that is me!

My cake from the wine night on the patio!

Cake and flowers - oh, and wine!

My birthday picnic!

My amazing cake....40 daisies!
